As I watched videos on what to take on a cruise. I didn’t want to break the bank buying unnecessary things so….. I started a Travel Bin in a Mens Shoe Box but….I filled that up to fast and did’nt have any room to grow. Therefore, I moved everything into a Deep sweater box from the Container Store & that worked better.
I like for everything in my luggage must be neatly organized. So….I started looking at new Packing cubes & ended up purchasing these.
They worked pretty well. I have no complaints at all. I went with this loud green color to ensure they didn’t blend into the State Room bedding, carpet or bathroom space & get left behind.
So after checking off
- Packing Cubes
I moved on to the necessary toiletries. I found a list online that seemed to cover everything. So I printed it out months in advance to keep in my Travel Bin (Deep Sweater Box).
Anything I wanted to take on the trip … I just dropped into this bin so I didn’t have to look for anything once it was time to pack.
I kept my checklist & pen in the same bin on a clipboard so that I could easily mark off anything I added to the bin.
Then after I came back from the cruise I simply dropped all my travel items back in this bin until my next trip. #SuperSimple. Once unpacked I stored the packing cubes inside my Luggage.
******These Two Are Must Haves *******
One thing mentioned on the checklist was a Power Strip because most Staterooms only have one plug. Being the organizer I am, I took a Power strip with me which was convenient since we all had gadgets to plug up.
Although I will be purchasing another PowerStrip that is majority USB connection to keep in my Travel Bin. I wanted more usb ports so that I wouldn’t have to bring all these cords & Plug square( the part that plugs in). Some are bulkier than others….. Id rather plug into the usb port.
One thing that wasn’t on any of the list were Paper Towels. My mom and I found that we always wanted a paper towel to wipe our hands. I did have wet wipes but we also needed dry paper towels. The Cruise line put’s great effort into not littering in the beautiful sea so…..you will only find small Paper Towels in the Bar area or the Visitor Bathrooms around the boat. In the dining areas they only provide cloth napkins. That way the don’t have to increase cruise cost to cover paying a team on a boat to follow the ship to clean up any waste dropped in the sea.
So next time I will bring 1 roll of paper towels in my checked luggage.
So that’s it for my cruise tips. Feel free to check out my other posts & go follow me on Social Media to stay up to date.
